St. Vincent’s Villa

We are proud of our long-standing relationship with SVV, a residential care facility in Baltimore County that offers services to 85 children ages 5-14 in emotional crisis.

We support the children through:

  • Birthday gifts

  • School supplies

  • Holiday celebrations

  • Special surprises to brighten their days (they love Snowballs!)

  • A garden they can plant, tend, and harvest

  • A beautiful and permanent covered pavilion for work and play

  • Umbrella-covered tables and chairs throughout the open spaces

Helping Up Mission Center for Women and Children

GPGC is blessed to be involved in several projects at the Helping Up Mission Center for Women and Children in Baltimore, a year-long spiritual addiction recovery program. Our role is to:

  • Provide birthday gifts for all of the women, babies, and staff

  • Host monthly enrichment such as painting, crafts, and self-care

  • Help with holiday decorating

  • Support the Gift-in-Kind donation center which provides a shopping experience for residents

  • Host the annual Recovery Dinner, a formal dinner celebration for the women, children and staff.

  • Celebrate the tremendous milestone of Graduation and gift each graduate an inspiring bracelet and note of encouragement for completing the recovery program.

  • Plan and host service projects that allow HUM residents to give back to their communities. Examples include making bracelets for pediatric cancer patients (with Kids Helping Kids at Johns Hopkins) and painting mugs for cancer patients (with Believe Big Mug Painting Program at Johns Hopkins), and making fleece blankets for the children who stay at the Ronald McDonald house, our next-door neighbor.

Household items ready to be made into blessings bags

Student Support Network

Our relationship with SSN thrives! Each year, our members volunteer at area high schools to:

  • Provide 500+ Blessing Bags of household items and toiletries for families in need at Owings Mills High School and Woodlawn High School. These Bags are assembled by members through the generosity of our donors.

  • Provide two OMHS students with the experience of participating in the Maryland Leadership Workshop, a one-week residential program on the Eastern Shore. Our members and donors covered the tuition and transportation, provided for necessities, and tucked in fun surprises to make that week extra special.

What recipients say

Student Support Network Logo

“I encourage the school to continue to nominate students. This experience was super unique in its own way. I gained so much diversity of others, new leadership and personal tools, independence, and a detox from my phone. I could go on and on about my experience but it’s something you truly have to experience on your own to really understand.”
